At Finest Plastering, I recently had the privilege of working on an incredibly special project—a bathroom renovation for a couple completing what they consider the last renovation they’ll ever undertake. This final masterpiece was envisioned as a timeless and elegant space, and they entrusted me with full creative control to bring it to life. Together, we crafted a serene, stylish retreat, blending textured grey Venetian plaster with white marble plaster to create a design that will serve as a peaceful sanctuary for years to come.
A Vision of Calm and Elegance
The couple’s request was straightforward yet sophisticated: a bathroom in shades of grey and white, exuding peace and luxury. They wanted a design that felt modern yet timeless, with all the finer details left in my hands. Working closely with them, I ensured that every aspect of the room contributed to the serene, stylish environment they envisioned as part of their final home project.
15 Square Metres of Textured Grey Venetian Plaster
The project entailed the application of 15 square metres of textured grey Venetian plaster throughout the bathroom, including the walk-in shower. The plaster’s soft texture and polished finish imparted a sophisticated, high-end feel. To ensure the shower walls were waterproof and durable, I applied a hydro-mineral sealant over the plaster, making the entire surface highly water-resistant and long-lasting
The textured grey plaster beautifully complemented the LED wall light strips installed in the bathroom, casting a soft, ambient glow across the walls. These lights accentuated the subtle details in the plaster, enhancing the room’s overall elegance and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere.
6 Square Metres of Polished White Marble Plaster
To contrast with the grey plaster, I applied 6 square metres of polished white marble plaster in select areas of the bathroom. The smooth, polished finish of the white marble added a luxurious touch, enhancing the overall elegance of the design. The simplicity of the pure white surface created a striking contrast to the textured grey plaster, achieving a perfect balance and giving the bathroom a look that is both timeless and modern.
Navy Blue Cabinet: A Bold, Stylish Accent
While the main focus was on the grey and white colour scheme, the couple also chose a navy blue cabinet, adding a bold accent to the design. This deep blue feature contrasted beautifully with the neutral tones of the plaster, providing both practical storage and a stylish focal point that unified the room.

Despite this being our first project together, the couple placed complete trust in me to bring their vision to life. Their confidence allowed me to explore creative ideas, resulting in a bathroom that is both stunning and functional.
