A hands-on introduction to polished plaster, Marmorino, textured finishes and more, taught at our Birmingham studio in small groups, so everyone gets time on the wall.
Most plastering courses put twenty people in a room and one trowel in the air.
We take five. That is not a marketing decision, it is a practical one: this is a skill you learn through your hands, and you cannot learn it watching someone else's.
The course runs at our studio in Birmingham. You spend the day working on boards, with the same materials we use on paying jobs, and you leave knowing how the product behaves rather than how it looks in a video.
For decorators, plasterers and trades looking to add decorative finishes, and for anyone serious about learning the material properly from the start.
Building coats, closing the surface and burnishing to a deep sheen. How pressure and timing change the result, and how to know when to stop.
The classic lime finish. Laying on, compressing and working the material to a stone-like depth, and how to keep it consistent across a wall.
Dragged, brushed and worked textures. Creating movement on purpose rather than by accident, and repeating it across a whole room.
We cover several finishes across the course and adapt to what the group wants to learn. If there is something specific you are after, tell us when you book.
Five seats per course. Tell us which dates suit and we will confirm availability and how to pay the deposit.
We keep our classes small to protect the quality of the teaching. With five people, everyone gets hands-on time, everyone gets watched while they work, and everyone gets their mistakes corrected on the day rather than finding out about them on a customer’s wall.
Send us a photograph of the wall and a rough size. We will tell you what it needs and roughly what it costs.
