Italian lime, laid by hand and burnished by trowel. Specified by architects. Trusted on commercial and heritage projects.
We do not skim, we do not take general plastering, and we do not pass work on. Decorative lime, applied by hand, is all we do.
It comes through Zavorè, who import it. We know what is in it because we have asked, and we have never found a reason to change.
Including a Grade II* listed building, which is as high as listing goes.
Made before you commit to anything, so the decision is made with the finish in your hand.
Agreed before we start. Signed means settled.
Our projects, photographed on the day they were finished.
No mystery, no drift. Most projects run to this shape, and you know the next step before you take the current one.
A call or a site visit. We look at the substrate and how the room is used, then tell you which system actually suits it.
A panel in your exact finish, colour and sheen, made for your wall and left with you to live with. Nothing proceeds until you have signed it off.
Itemised in writing: preparation, materials, labour, protection. Nothing hidden in the rate. The number does not move once agreed.
Floors and joinery protected, dust controlled, coats built and burnished to the sampled standard. Clean site every evening.
Snag walk, aftercare guidance, and a surface that keeps improving with age. We stay reachable afterwards.
Marble dust and aged lime, burnished to a mirror. The finish most people picture when they say Venetian plaster.
A coarser marble aggregate, left matt or taken to a low sheen. More forgiving across a large wall, and it ages better.
Seamless, waterproof and thin enough to go over existing tile. Bathrooms, wet rooms and floors.
Moroccan lime, compressed with a stone and sealed with soap. Seamless and water-resistant, which is why it ends up in showers.
The softest of the six. Cloudy, chalky, brushed rather than trowelled. A whole room in limewash reads as calm.
Real metal particles that oxidise and patinate as they age. Bronze, brass, copper, iron.
We work across Hull and the East Riding: the Georgian Old Town around High Street and the Museums Quarter, the Victorian Avenues off Princes Avenue with their wide tree-lined streets and big terraced houses, the Marina and Fruit Market, where the warehouses have become apartments and restaurants, and the larger houses out through Kirk Ella, Cottingham and Beverley.
In the Old Town and the Avenues we work in lime. The Fruit Market conversions are brick and modern board where polished plaster and microcement are straightforward. Beverley's Georgian centre is a conservation area where we work in lime by specification.
Everything about how we work — the samples, the fixed price, the six finishes — is on our main Venetian plastering page. This page is about Hull.
We cover the whole of Hull and the towns around it. If your address is not listed, ask anyway.
Photograph the wall, tell us roughly how big it is, and you will hear back within one working day.
If you need any help, feel free to get in touch. We are happy to answer anything about finishes, timings or price.
