Lime from Italy, built up by hand and burnished until it shines. Written into architects' drawings. Trusted on listed and commercial projects.
We do not skim, we do not take general plastering, and we do not pass work on. Decorative lime, applied by hand, is all we do.
It comes through Zavorè, who import it. We know what is in it because we have asked, and we have never found a reason to change.
Including a Grade II* listed building, which is as high as listing goes.
Made before you commit to anything, so the decision is made with the finish in your hand.
Agreed before we start. Signed means settled.
Our own work, photographed on site, not stock images.
Five stages, in writing, before we start. Nothing happens that you were not told about.
We find out what the wall is made of and what the room has to cope with, and tell you which finish will suit it before we quote.
A panel on your own wall, in the real finish and colour. It stays with you until you have decided. Nothing is agreed before that.
Preparation to protection, every part on its own line, in writing. Once signed, it is the number.
Floors and joinery covered, dust controlled, coats built up and burnished to the sample. Cleaned down at the end of every day.
Snags walked, aftercare explained, and a surface that improves with age. We stay reachable.
Marble dust and aged lime, burnished to a mirror. The finish most people picture when they say Venetian plaster.
A coarser marble aggregate, left matt or taken to a low sheen. More forgiving across a large wall, and it ages better.
Seamless, waterproof and thin enough to go over existing tile. Bathrooms, wet rooms and floors.
Moroccan lime, compressed with a stone and sealed with soap. Seamless and water-resistant, which is why it ends up in showers.
The softest of the six. Cloudy, chalky, brushed rather than trowelled. A whole room in limewash reads as calm.
Real metal particles that oxidise and patinate as they age. Bronze, brass, copper, iron.
We work across Leeds, from the Victorian suburbs of Roundhay, Chapel Allerton, Headingley and Horsforth, with their large stone villas and tall rooms, to the converted mills and warehouses of Holbeck, the Calls and Granary Wharf, the new apartments across the centre, and a bar, restaurant and hotel trade that is among the biggest outside London.
In the Victorian villas we work in lime. The conversions and new apartments are flat modern substrates where polished plaster and microcement go on cleanly. In the hospitality work the brief is scale and programme: a long run of seamless wall, or a bar front that has to survive, done overnight.
Everything about how we work — the samples, the fixed price, the six finishes — is on our main Venetian plastering page. This page is about Leeds.
We cover the whole of Leeds and the towns around it. If your address is not listed, ask anyway.
A photo and a rough size gets things moving. Next steps within one working day.
If you need any help, feel free to get in touch. We are happy to answer anything about finishes, timings or price.
