Genuine Italian lime, applied by hand and polished with the trowel. Specified by architects. Trusted on commercial and heritage work.
We do not skim, we do not patch, and we never pass a job to someone else. Lime finishes, applied by hand, are the whole of what we do.
It comes through Zavorè, who bring it in from Italy. We know what goes on your wall because we know where it came from.
Architects write us into their drawings. Our work includes a Grade II* listed building, the highest listing there is.
Three of them, in your colour and finish, made for your wall. You decide with the finish in your hand.
Written down, itemised, agreed. After it is signed, it does not change.
Our projects, photographed on the day they were finished.
Every job runs in the same order, so you know where you are at every point.
A call, or a visit to the wall. What it is made of and how the room is used decide the system, and we say which before anything is priced.
Made in your finish and colour, left on your wall for you to live with. You sign it off or we make another. Nothing moves until you do.
Preparation, materials, labour and protection, each itemised in writing. No day rate hiding anything. Agreed is agreed.
Protection first, dust kept down, then each coat built and burnished to match the board. The site is left clean every evening.
A walk round together, a note on aftercare, and a wall that keeps hardening for years. We are still on the phone afterwards.
Lime putty and marble dust taken to a high shine with the trowel. The classic Venetian finish, and the least forgiving of a poor wall beneath it.
Grittier marble in the mix, finished flat or with a low sheen. The most forgiving of the six and the one most rooms end up in.
A thin cement-based coat with no joints. Over tiles, on floors, in showers. Modern and matt.
Lime compressed with a stone and sealed with soap, the way Morocco has done it for centuries. Seamless, water-resistant, made for showers.
A brushed lime paint rather than a trowelled plaster. Soft, cloudy and matt. The calmest finish we do.
Metal particles in a binder, applied like plaster and ageing like metal. Bronze, brass, copper, iron.
We work across London, and a good deal of our specification work comes from London architects and designers. That takes us into Georgian and Victorian stucco terraces in Belgravia, Notting Hill and Islington, mansion flats in Kensington, warehouse conversions in Shoreditch and Bermondsey, new-build towers along the river, and a retail and hospitality fit-out market bigger than everywhere else in the country combined.
In the stucco terraces we work in lime. In the mansion blocks and new-builds, polished plaster and microcement are straightforward. In retail and hospitality the brief is scale and programme: a seamless run of wall or a bar front, done at night to a date that does not move, with the client's fit-out contractor working around us.
Everything about how we work — the samples, the fixed price, the six finishes — is on our main Venetian plastering page. This page is about London.
We cover the whole of London and the towns around it. If your address is not listed, ask anyway.
Photograph the wall, tell us roughly how big it is, and you will hear back within one working day.
If you need any help, feel free to get in touch. We are happy to answer anything about finishes, timings or price.
