Genuine Italian lime, applied by hand and polished with the trowel. Specified by architects. Trusted on commercial and heritage work.
No general plastering, no skim coats, no subcontractors. The people on your wall do this every working day and nothing else.
Supplied by Zavorè, who import it. We have used it for years and we know exactly how it behaves.
Our work is specified on drawings, and includes a Grade II* listed building, which is as high as a listing goes.
Your finish, your colour, your wall. You choose from boards you can hold, before you commit.
Every line agreed before we start. The total does not move once it is signed.
The same shape on every job, so there are no surprises in the middle of it.
We talk, or we visit. The substrate and the use of the room decide the system, and we tell you which one before anything is priced.
A real panel in the real finish, made for your wall and left with you. You sign it off, or we make another.
Every part of the job on its own line, preparation to protection. No allowances, no extras, no movement once it is agreed.
Protection down before a tub is opened. Dust controlled. Each coat built and burnished to the sample. Clean-down at the end of every day.
We walk it with you, leave you the aftercare, and stay on the end of the phone. The wall carries on improving for years.
Lime and marble flour, worked to a mirror. The classic Venetian finish, and the one that shows every flaw in the wall beneath.
A grainier marble plaster, matt or softly burnished. The one most rooms end up with, because it forgives and it lasts.
Two millimetres of seamless cement over whatever is there, tiles included. Floors, bathrooms, showers.
Lime compressed with a stone and sealed with olive-oil soap, as Morocco has done it for centuries. Made for water.
A brushed lime paint rather than a trowelled plaster. Matt, cloudy, calm.
Metal particles applied like plaster and ageing like metal. Bronze, brass, copper and iron.
We work across Oxford and the villages to its west. North Oxford is a run of large Victorian Gothic villas along the Banbury and Woodstock roads, Jericho is terraces, and the centre is colleges, which are listed, lime, and looked after by people who know the difference. Beyond the ring road, Woodstock, Charlbury and the Cotswold edge are stone villages where every house is a lime building.
The North Oxford villas take polished plaster and Marmorino well, and they are lime beneath, so we put lime on top. College and conservation work we do in lime by specification. In the stone villages, limewash and a soft Marmorino are the finishes that look as if they belong.
Everything about how we work — the samples, the fixed price, the six finishes — is on our main Venetian plastering page. This page is about Oxford.
We cover the whole of Oxford and the towns around it. If your address is not listed, ask anyway.
A photograph and a rough size is enough to begin. You will have next steps within one working day.
If you need any help, feel free to get in touch. We are happy to answer anything about finishes, timings or price.
