A kitchen arch and a hood the size of a doorway, and not a straight line between them.
Curves are where plastering gets honest. A flat wall forgives you. A curve shows every hollow, every heavy pass, every place you rushed, and it shows it worst under downlights.
So this one was built up slowly and checked by eye from across the room, again and again, until the shape held its shadow evenly the whole way round.
Six weeks of joinery and stone went into this kitchen before we started. Nobody wants the plasterer to be the one who lets it down.
