Venetian Plaster Specialists in the Cotswolds

Honey limestone, lime mortar, and one of the most heavily protected landscapes in England.

01 The practice

Stone, spread by hand across the Cotswolds.

Polished plaster is marble dust and aged lime, applied by hand in layers and burnished until it shines. Venice has been finishing walls this way for five hundred years, for one reason: it doesn't chip, peel or date. It hardens as it ages.

We do this and nothing else. Every project in the Cotswolds begins with a sample panel on your own wall, and ends with a surface no machine could ever make.

How we cover it

An hour to an hour and a half from the studio, which makes the Cotswolds one of the few genuinely rural areas we can treat as local.

02 Cities and towns

Where we work in the Cotswolds

Each of these has its own page, with the neighbourhoods we cover there and how we get to them.

We also cover the towns and villages around them. If your address is not listed, ask anyway.

03 The finishes

Polished plaster and microcement in the Cotswolds

Six systems, and the same six wherever we work. The one you end up with is chosen from boards made for your wall, not from a catalogue.

Polished plaster

Marble dust and aged lime, burnished to a mirror. The finish most people picture when they say Venetian plaster.

Marmorino

A coarser marble aggregate, left matt or taken to a low sheen. More forgiving across a large wall, and it ages better.

Microcement

Seamless, waterproof and thin enough to go over existing tile. Bathrooms, wet rooms and floors.

We also work in Tadelakt, limewash, liquid metal and marble effect, across the Cotswolds.

04 Our work

Walls we have finished

Our own projects, photographed on site. They are not all in the Cotswolds — we will always tell you where a job was.

A wall is one of the biggest surfaces in the room. It should be the best one.

Three promises, in writing

I

Three bespoke samples

Three sample designs made for your wall, before you commit to anything. You choose the finish in your hand, not from a photograph.

II

A fixed written price

Preparation, materials, labour, protection and the travel across the Cotswolds, itemised and agreed before we begin. The number does not move once it is signed.

III

Your home handed back clean

Floors, joinery and furniture protected before we start. Dust controlled while we work. A proper clean-down at the end of every day, not just the last one.

06 How it runs

From first call to finished wall in the Cotswolds

No mystery, no drift. Most projects in the Cotswolds run to this shape, and you know the next step before you take the current one.

Day one

We talk

A call, or a site visit in the Cotswolds. We look at the substrate, the light and how the room is used, then tell you which system actually suits it.

Week one

Your sample

A panel in your exact finish, colour and sheen, made for your wall and left with you to live with. Nothing proceeds until you have signed it off.

Week two

Fixed quotation

Itemised in writing: preparation, materials, labour, protection and travel. The number does not move once agreed.

On site

The work

Floors and joinery protected, dust controlled, coats built and burnished to the sampled standard. Clean site every evening.

Handover

Yours

Snag walk, aftercare guidance, and a surface that keeps improving with age. We stay reachable afterwards.

07 Questions

Common questions about the Cotswolds

Do you do Venetian plastering in the Cotswolds?
Yes. Our studio is in Birmingham and we work across the UK, the Cotswolds included. The travel is itemised in the written quotation, so there is nothing to discover later.
What does a project in the Cotswolds start with?
A sample panel in your exact finish, colour and sheen, made for your wall and left with you to live with. Nothing proceeds until you have signed it off.
Is the price fixed?
Yes. Preparation, materials, labour, protection and travel are itemised in writing before we begin, and the number does not move once it is agreed.
Which finishes can I have in the Cotswolds?
All of them. We bring the same range to the Cotswolds that we use anywhere: polished plaster, Marmorino, microcement, Tadelakt, limewash, liquid metal and marble effect. The choice is made from the sample boards, not from a catalogue.
How long does the finish last?
Lime carries on carbonating for years, so the surface hardens as it ages rather than degrading. It does not chip, peel or date the way paint does.
