A marble wall with no marble in it. Veined by hand, full height, no joints, and a fraction of the weight of stone.
Marble effect is a lime finish built in layers and then veined by hand while it is still workable, so the veins sit inside the surface rather than being drawn on top of it. Done well, people put their hand on it to check. The point is not to imitate a stone photograph but to behave like stone: depth under the surface, veins that change direction, and a sheen that shifts as you move past it.
Media walls, full-height hallway and stairwell walls, behind beds, around fireplaces, and anywhere a client has priced real stone and found what a book-matched slab wall costs to buy and to install. It has no joints, so a wall four metres tall reads as a single piece. It weighs almost nothing, so it goes on stud walls that could never carry stone.
Base coats, then the veining, worked wet and adjusted until it sits right, then burnished and sealed. It is the finish where the difference between applicators is most obvious, because the veining is a drawing and not a product. We always make a sample panel first, and we adjust the vein weight and colour on that panel rather than on your wall.
